Trying to figure out how Englewood CRA gets funded? Me too.
I searched the Sarasota County’s Budget Document Library. I found the 990+ page 2026 Adopted Budget for Sarasota County. I searched for the word Englewood and got 83 hits. I compiled the search results here in a 49 page pdf.
My conclusion, some of the funding comes out the the County’s General Fund.
Background: There is an Englewood Community Redevelopment Fund that was created when the Englewood CRA was created. The fund is used to implement the ECRA Plan (that link was difficult to find). When is the Fund used? How is the Fund used? The answers cannot be simplified into a few words here. The 2026 Budget has some hints so take a look at the pages I extracted from the Budget.
