Projects for Lemon Bay Coastal
Oct. 4, 2025. There are 109 projects total for Lemon Bay Watershed. On top of that there are other watersheds in Sarasota County. In our section of the Lemon Bay Watershed, called Lemon Bay Coastal, there are 8 projects. Based on the point system we are near the bottom of the priority list.

Bay Vista Blvd residents probably want improvements to happen faster than what the County can deliver. The Bay Vista Boulevard Association has a Stormwater Committee looking into ways to get our projects done in a more timely manner. That means funding, planning, designing, permitting, all before we get to construction.
If we don’t do anything some of our residents will suffer catastrophic damage from flooding. All of us will be paying higher flood insurance premiums. If we start a process of advocating for our interests we can have more control over how much it costs, when improvements will happen, what areas of our neighborhood get the most attention. You might even make new friends in the process.
