Englewood Community Redevelopment Area

The map below shows the perimeter of Englewood CRA in red. Bay Vista Boulevard is near the north end and inside the red area. That means Bay Vista Boulevard residents are affected by the actions of Englewood CRA.

Englewood CRA Advisory Board is the communication entity that reports directly to the County Commissioners.

There is so much information about Englewood CRA. I will try to pick out what is relevant to Bay Vista Boulevard community residents.

Background

Englewood Florida is officially classified as a census-designated place (CDP) and an unincorporated community that spans parts of Sarasota County and Charlotte County in the U.S. state of Florida. This means it doesn’t have its own city government (like a mayor or city council) and instead relies on the county governments for local services and administration.

At the time of creation of the Englewood Community Redevelopment Area in 1998, Englewood was considered a “blighted area” as described in Sarasota County Resolution No. 98-064.
