CONA Board Member Susan Schoettle will moderate the program and provide an overview of the state amendments and local initiatives appearing on the November ballot.
We will also hear from two guest speakers on important Sarasota County ballot issues:
- Sarasota County Commissioner Tom Knight will discuss the property tax measure, what it could mean for Sarasota taxpayers, and what voters are being asked to decide. Look for Constitutional Amendment No. 3 on the back of your ballot.
- Former Sarasota County Commissioner Jon Thaxton will discuss the referendum concerning Environmentally Sensitive Lands, including what voters are being asked to approve and the purpose of the program. These are the last two questions on the back of the ballot: County Referendum and County Bond Referendum.
