I would like to be fair and learn about all candidates. I started with REPUBLICAN PARTY OF SARASOTA COUNTY
OFFICIAL WEBSITE I found a voter guide page. The page simply says “Take a Photo or Print and bring to the Polls!”
Photo shows a list of Republican candidates to choose.
There is No background information for you to learn about any candidates.
If I am just given a directive to turn off my brain and follow the Republicans blindly it is a guide, but not a wise choice considering how current elected officials our serving their constituents (or rather themselves without regard for constituents).
The same website has another page that has a list of elected officials.
An implicit bias is intended in the way the non-Republicans are listed, they are grayed out.
I still found no background info on candidates or elected officials. Apparently that background info does not matter to the party. The government needs qualified people to be effective at serving the public. How can the public choose with no information about candidates and/or elected officials?
